In 2024 Stromness Drama Club held a competition for new short plays, funded by the Scottish Society of Playwrights' 50th anniversary celebrations. Two Pitchforks West of Stromness won second prize. It’s a two hander that follows two pitchforks through various points in their long history. It was inspired by the discovery of two beautiful pitchforks when clearing out the Stromness Drama Club store on the Polestar Pier.

It was then entered into the Scottish Community Drama Association One Act Play Competition for Orkney District in 2025. Two Pitchforks was awarded the Corsie Cup for Play Depicting Best Moment of Theatre.

I really enjoyed writing this play and am really grateful to Stromness Drama Club for not only awarding the play second place but staging it in the SCDA One Act Play Competition.
