Production

I love making things happen, especially creative things.  It turns out this is called production.  Who knew?

I've produced my own play, The Boy Who Thought He Could Swim, from an idea to a production that is ready for touring.

I've also co-produced the sell out run of Pickled Republic at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025, as well as a mini tour to Prague Fringe, Paisley and Leeds in 2026.

In between those I co-created and produced In On The Act for Lairg, funded by Eden Court Theatre.  This involved over 50 members of the community as performers, an inflatable Wee Hoose and a new song I composed which was recorded and performed for the occasion.

As the founding chair of Orkney Pilgrimage I also was neck deep in production as we strove to open a 55-mile pilgrimage route in time for the 900th anniversary of the death of St Magnus.  We did it!  The St Magnus Way is now a treasured part of the heritage in Orkney, something that has been wonderful to be a part of.

Producing new works is really thrilling, but I also like being able to choose only projects that really excite me.  That helps with the spreadsheets.  I've another project coming that will be announced later in the year, possibly the most bonkers yet.
